Life is full of hardships and challenges.

 

That’s because we decided to go through these hardships before we were born.

 

The process of overcoming challenges provide us with valuable lessons and realizations that will help us evolve as spirits.

 

Like any skill, staying calm even in trying times requires rigorous practice.

 

In this post, I am going to outline some of the fundamental characteristics of pain and suffering.

 

Then, I will go on to introduce ways to effectively deal with these issues.

 

On The Fundamental Nature of Pain and Suffering

Any pain or suffering is indeed composed of two steps.

 

The first step is where the pain or suffering arrives. This step is unavoidable.

 

The second step is our evaluation of the pain or suffering. This step is preventable.

 

Therefore, any effective dealing with pain involves training your mind to experiencing only the first step and ignoring the second step.

 

Then, what is the way to delete the second step?

 

How To Use Mind

Whenever you are thinking about something, your spirit is projecting its energy onto what you are thinking about.

 

For instance, if you are recalling the memory of how happy you were to get a good score on the exam, your spirit is projecting its spiritual energy onto the happy memory.

 

It would also be possible to assign a number to the energy, so that we can readily see the intensity of the energy.

 

For example, let’s say that you are projecting 100 watts of energy to sad feelings.

 

Then, you are basically converting a portion of your energy into the form that can be felt by the human mind, the emotion of sadness.

 

If you decide to direct your energy away from the sadness, you can do so.

 

And this is the key to staying comfortable at all times.

 

You can set a priority and by directing your attention away from what makes you suffer and towards your priority, you can readily make the pain vanish.

 

For instance, if you set your priority as being comfortable at all times, you can always return to the priority whenever you are feeling sad, in distress or melancholic.

 

On the other hand, if your priority is earning a lot of money, you won’t be able to direct your thoughts away from money even if issues about money are causing you distress.

 

The power to set a priority belongs to you, so you can make your pain vanish whenever you want it to go away.

 

About Habits

When you project your energy to certain habits for a prolonged period of time, the habit can get stronger.

 

For example, let’s say that you can employ 100 watts of energy per second.

 

If you concentrate on something for 100 seconds, 10000 watts of energy has gone into fueling the subject of focus.

 

This means that a certain memory or emotion has gained 10000 watts of stored energy that will make it more likely to appear on your consciousness.

 

Since the energy will naturally dissipate and return to your store of energy, if you want to remove any bad habit, the best thing you can do is to ignore the habit that you don’t want anymore and spend time on more important things.
